Adventure Furtography Pet Portrait

Full Service Photography Experience

How does this work?

It's easy really! I'll walk you through each step of the process so you won't need to feel anxious wondering what will be happening next. I want you and your pet to enjoy your experience.

1. Consultation

Once you have chosen the session you like, and you are ready to get the slobbery ball a rollin', the first thing we do is set up a quick complementary phone consultation. The consult will allow us to get to know each other. You can tell me everything about your cutie-patootie (goofball, princess, or whatever "pet" name you have for the love of your life that has fur).  We will go over products that I offer, discuss a good day/time for the shoot, and answer any further questions you may have.

2. BOOKING A SESSION

Once we know we are kindred sprits, and that I am the right photographer for you, you'll sign the agreement and pay your session retainer to reserve your date on my calendar. Once your session is confirmed, you will receive a session guide to help prepare you and your dog for the big day.

3. Pre-Session Planning meeting

This meeting is for getting down to business. Here we will go over the fine details for the shoot. What type of products your thinking about, or where a piece of wall art will hang, can determine how I photograph your pet. This meeting can be in person, over the phone, or video chat.

4. The Session

We will meet at our previously chosen location and get started on making beautiful images! We will let the pup explore and be itself while I capture it's personality.  Being a dog trainer for over 25 years I have tricks up my sleeve when dealing with the furkind so don't worry if your pup is camera shy. We can work with your dog on leash so don't worry if your dog can not be off the leash, it will be removed during the editing process!

After your session, your images will be digitally enhanced, removing distractions such as eye boogers, drool, dirt spots, leashes etc...

5. Reveal & Order Meeting

Yes! The day you have been waiting for!!! You will get to view the images!!!  Generally 1 - 3 weeks after the shoot, we will meet for the reveal and order session.  Here you will view a slideshow while you enjoy a cup of joe, cocoa or your drink of choice.  I will be with you to help you decide on your favorites if needed, and help you choose the best way to display them in your home. Some clients will spend $500 on their printed products others will spend $5,000 or more, how much you spend is up to you.  After the order meeting your images will move into production.

Just an example of what we do to help you determine what you might like to order.

FAQ

What if my dog can't be off leash?  No worries! I'd rather you keep your dog on leash. Plus it may be the law, rule or policies of the location anyway.  The leash as well as other distractions will be removed in post production.

What if my dog isn't trained? That's ok! Dogs will basically stand, sit, or laydown all on their own, all positions of course make for great photos.  In addition, since I have trained dogs for over 25 years I can give you tips and tricks before your session. If your dog is trained, and knows special tricks, that's great and we can incorporate that into the shots! You can bring the treats or toys your dog loves, to help if needed!

Do you only photograph dogs? No, I photograph all pets small and large!

I want to create unique portraits of my pet! How do I book? Shoot me an email at info@adventurefurtography.com we will schedule a time for a complementary consultation.
Note: The reservation retainer fee is required at the time of booking to secure your session on the calendar. Sessions are often booked a few weeks in advance.

My dog doesn't have much time left. Can you see us quickly? So sorry.  Our pet’s lives are terribly short.  This would be considered a "Legacy Session", which means, time is of the essence, and I’ll do everything in my power to schedule you as quickly as possible.

Can I be in the photos? You certainly can. The focus of the session will be on your pet, but for a portion of the session you can be in the photos if you'd like. If you're looking for child or family portraits where the focus is on the people you will want to contact a family portrait photographer.

Can I just get a 5x7 or 8x10? We specialize in creating custom wall art and coffee table albums with the images from our session.  Of course many clients do add a few archival desk prints to their order as well.
